Please help. My 4010 hydraulics go out when i push the clutch in and lift a load no more than 300lbs i was told let the clutch out and it will fix it and it did. Then a friend told me that his dad has a 4010 JD and i shouldnt have to do that.Is it true that to use the bucket up or down i have to let out on the clutch. thanks

I have a JD1520 that seemed to work similiar to the way your describing the 4010. It had the hydraulic main pump only feed from the transmission whose pump stopped with the clutch in. I was able to get a conversion kit from the JD dealer that rerouted the return from my SCV down to the hydraulic filer, instead returning it to the transmission. This allowed the return from the loader (which was connected through the SCV) to go directly the filter housing, by-passing the transmission. This also caused my loader to operate faster since the transmission pump was only 6 gpm and now my main pump could operate at is full 12 gpm.

I don't know if this works the same on your 4010 but I hope this helps.
Charlie

The 4010 has a supply pump in the trans that sends oil to the main hyd pump. This pump does not turn when the clutch is depressed.there is a certain amount of oil stored in the oil cooler that is used by the main pump in this situation, but when this oil is used up you will loose hyd pressure. therefore the clutch needs to be out to continue to use the hyd.

You could supplement this by adding an accumulator up front between the oil cooler and the main pump. This would offer the main pump an additional gallon or so of oil during the times the clutch is depressed.
