One of those combine engines that bolt in is supposed have more power than the tractor engine.Same bolt patterns however. Don't have the particular manuals however, maybe thinking of the 1010 gas engine swap.

Dave, you need to look for a 45 combine engine. Hope this helps. Mike

Dave, the model 45 combine used at least two, maybe three different engines. There were Hercules engines and a JD engine.

There is a specific block you need to find. Don't remember the block number off the top of my head (Can another 2010 gas owner or parts catalog owner help?) And there were two versions of this block number, one with waterjacket covers on the side and one without. If I remember correctly, you want the block without the water jacket covers.

This same engine was also used in a hay swather (model 315 or 415?).

I helped a friend replace the cracked block in a 2010 a couple of years ago. We looked all over a boneyard and found 3 or 4 possibilities on 45 combines. Then we stumbled across this hay swather with the same engine. Took the swather engine. The crank and several internal parts looked like new!

If you have more questions about this, feel free to e-mail me.

The 2010 Gas Engine has the same block as a JD 145 Power Unit found in the early "Round Back" JD 45 Combines.
