I know folks like John Deeres, and for good reason, but what took place a couple weeks back at an auction sort of leaves me in doubt of the sanity of some of the people in my neighborhood. It was an estate auction of one of the long time local farmers, and the tractor in question was a 57 620 rowcrop, narrow front threepoint, nothing rare as fare as I heard or could tell. The tractor was a one owner, it was complete, It had been taken care of, but was not cleaned up or restored. It did however have the original paperwork, and operating manual, and again this was a one owner. However this 620 sold for 6,500 dollars. Seemed high to me. I just wanted to share that because this is the most I've ever seen a Two lunger bring at auction. Of course I've never seen one of the rare models sell before. I guess if the mans wife will allow him to live, than I say more power to him, it just seemed real high priced, what do you'll think? Greg H.

The 620 in question sounds like the one I bought a couple of weeks ago at a estate auction. Only the one I bought was a 1958. It had two owners not one. I help bury them both. The tractor has been with in one mile of the orginal owner since it was new. The auctioneer said that it had only been driven by fifty people. That should have been five people and I am one of them. I grew up with not only the tractor but the people who owned it. I not only liked the tractor I respected the late Lester Adkins and respect his wife Nellie, who was in tears after she found out I bought the 620. The price I paid for the tractor means nothing to me or for that matter anyone else. So you can call me insane or what ever you want just don't worry about what I do with my money!!!!

I think the green iron at auctions makes some people's eyes cross so they think they are buying two tractors. The boss went to a sale last week with a nice 3020, nothing eyepopping, it was aside sonsole diesel. Just a real nice example. $12000! 60% more than it cost new. I'd like a couple of green ones myself, but not if that's how I have to buy them. Tom
