What is the max safe hp you can get from a 6030 with standard engine but just turning up the fuel ? How far can you go before you get the diesel washing the cylinders of oil and what sought of hp you get at the pto ?
Thanks in advance.

I have a 7520 (same engine), It's set at about 210 & has been there basically forever without problems. I'm sure it would produce more, but why? I have both a pyrometer & manifold pressure guages & NEVER lug it down. At this fuel setting the exaust temp does not go over 950 degrees unless the air cleaner starts to get dirty. Actually, that's, in my opnion ,the primary use of a pyrometer-tells you when to clean the filter way before the little light comes on- when the temp starts to rise, It's time to stop & clean. The "boost" guage gives you a constant reading of how hard the engine is working. I usually choose whatever gear makes 11-12 lbs of boost & leave it there, that leaves me some reserve for "tough spots". Fortunatly the "75" with It's 16 speeds allows me to down shift a gear ,if necessary, without losing a great amount of speed.

A pyrometer is required in the exhaust manifold to monitor temps. No matter if made by Mother Deere of it's a Binder. When metal get$ too hot it goe$ $oft and component$ come apart. Fuel efficiency goes right out the window too. It takes a lot of fuel for a little extra power. What's the big hurry anyways? Spend another hour or two in the field working rather than days in the shop being rebuilt.

We have 2 that pull above the 225 range and have for many years. We used to have an 8630 that would pull our 20,000lb, 28 Case DOT harrow in B-2/C-2 and those 6030s could pull our 18,000lb 26 Case DOT in 4th or 5th depending on soil! Pulling them that hard cost us the rearend in one of them years ago. They dont work nearly that hard anymore although I know they still can. Good luck.

Neighbor's 6030 has been running at 235 PTO hp since it was new. Has almost 8,000 hrs with nothing done to the engine.

Which engine, turbo'ed or naturally aspirated? Turboed engine should live just fine at around 200-215 hp, this is assuming the cooling system is clean and in good shape and the engine itself is sound. Before you twist it up it may pay to drop the pan and check the bearings or if its in the 4500-5000 hr range, roll in a new set of bearings. There are some out there pushing 250+ but I wouldn't want to bet on their longevity. The drive train can take it,but there have been some issues with torsional twisting and cracking of the blocks when lugged down.
