May be the 4th shifting fork is bad, not a real hard repair but both sides have to come off the trans, the flywheel, and the shifting quadrant on top of the trans, then pull the shafts out of the sides of the trans that hold the forks in place. May be under the left side 4th gear cover on the outside of the trans housing. There is a fork in there that has a lock pin type bolt that could be loose and not allowing the gear to slide properly. Also the bearings could have too much end plan and that gets to be a job because if your going to go in that far you might as well put in new bearings (between $350-500 for bearings alone). BTW the flywheel on a 730 is VERY HEAVY, be VERY careful taking it off!!! Hope this gives you some ideas. I highly suggets getting a shop manual. I'm sure somebody else will have some suggestions. Good Luck. HB
