I have heard some talk about Firestone producing some of the original type tires from some of their old molds. Has anyone heard anything about this? Where is a good tire source for these original type tires? Thanks

And keep in mind if you do find some that the tread on Firestone tires in those days was a straight bar, closed tread design. Firestone didn't go to a curved bar closed tread design until the late '40s.

Note that the term, "closed bar" is probably my term - I'm not sure if Firestone advertised them that way. Goodyear did, however, advertise their tires as an "Open Tread" design - they claimed it was better than Firestone's - truth in advertising, eh?

Try M. E. Miller Tire in Wauseon, Ohio. Mike carries a lot of the older tires and has the old style fronts for an LA. I don't think that they are making the 45 degree closed bar rears yet in the 24" sizze. give him a call. I don't have the # here but can get it if you can't find it.
