I recently replaced the float bowl gasket on my carbarator and after I reassembled it the tractor will not idle very well. The butterfly can be almost completely shut but it is still running at about what would normally be half throttle. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you make sure your pickup tube in the acceleration well did not slip down when you installed bowl back on? If it did, this places a large fuel hole in the lo pressure area of the carb venturi, and more fuel than you need at any butterfly position. Good luck...Doug in Tx

Ryan a DLTX-53 is a all-fuel carb,DLTX-71 is a gas carb, but they both will work,Call Roberts carb and he will have the correct ventra pickup tube from a 71 that will fit in the 53,also when you removed fuel bowl did you put the spring that holds the ventra tube up back in and the bowl gasket on the big nut that holds the bowl. These old cast iron carbs the idle and load jets are very sensitive to rust particles,I've had to takem down three times before I can get them cleaned (air Pressure) out where the tractor will run correctly .
