Does anyone have any good ideas on how to get the brass screws out of these carbs? I've been soaking them in Kroil for a week now and occasionally applying heat with a propane torch. Don't want to melt the mass.
Thanks,

Hi Dick, I'm sitting here with an expert, he says to get a solid connection with a wire to the screw, then hook up a battery, touch the other end (not the one at the screw) back to ground. Do this carefully, don't melt the screw, and give it a few short zaps. It should come out after this reasonably easy. If not, try tapping the screw with the live end for smae result.

sometimes I tap on the screwdriver with a hammer, if that doesn't work use a long bit in a impact screwdriver,VERY CAREFULLY,ussually it works,by then your up to drilling them out.

Heat them to almost melting, then let them cool completely. If you have just propane and no oxygen they won't even come close to melt, and they will come out easily

Whenever I have one that frustrates me, I go see my friend who is service manager at JD. He taps it with an impact screwdriver and they loosen up. Good luck. Mike
