The front end of this 435 has been altered. Tractor in good shape, and runs strong. I would like to bring it back to original. I need complete stearing parts beginning with stearing wheel,to front end. All parts missing. Also need some front end parts. I ordered a service manual fron John Deer and received one for a 420 are they the same tractor with the exception of the engine. Need all the help I can get.

The late 420 manual "w" chassis sections are correct for the 435. Two parts manuals, one for engine and another for chassis. Front end of "w" tractors often ruined by impatient people with a tow chain. There is an advertisment in Green Magazine for the centre axle casting. We made an axle from square steel "u" channal, added the braces, stop blocks etc. With cosmetic work it takes a sharp eye to notice it's not origional. Being steel it bends before breaking. To eliminate need for pull starting at below 50F temperatures or wrecking the engine/blower with ether an upgrade is required. Purchase "n" series engine parts. .84 sleeves, 21 to 1 pistons and "n" injectors. Do an oil analsis of the transmission lube to see if ring & pinion is shredded.

Your best bet is to get a 435 parts book and see if what you need will interchange with a 430. Most of the transmission parts and rockshaft are the same but the front end support is different. The adjustable axel casting is the same M4006T. I have a number of parts for 435 and 430 John Deeres, Maybe I can help. John

William, I don't know where you are located but there's a person here in the San Joaquin Valley of California that has what you require from a 430. You can e-mail me for details if interested and I'll pass it on to the owner.

I am amazed that the Service/Technical manual is the same for the 435 as for the 420, but I looked in the Deere Service Publications Catalog and they sure are - SM2019(01FEB58). Maybe, other than the engine, they are mechanically identical? The parts catalog, however, is different - for the 435 it is PC642(01OCT63). Maybe the parts catalog will help.

Good luck,

Stan
