I just had a 49B Bored to .125 Can anyone tell me what the displacement would be? and how much horsepower it might have now? It sure sounds healthy! Thanks in advance for your input.

Kemper, your "B" should have right at 200 cubic inches now. If the pistons are higher compression than stock (which likely they are) it should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 32-34 h.p., perhaps more if other modifications were done. Be sure the carburetor is in good shape and adjusted properly and that the governor is working as it should. Common wisdom is to adjust the governor rod (to the carburetor) "half a hole short". I like to adjust them about a full hole short as it makes them a lot more snappy and load-responsive. And no, it won't make it "hunt" if it is adjusted properly. Hope this helps. Mike

And, if you want to talk in modern-day terms of displacement, it would be 3.28 liters. But, if you still don't like using that "liters" term and want to express it in good ol' American terms, it would be 3.47 quarts.
