I have a JD Model 70. I need several parts for it that are no longer available from JD. While I am out scrounging, It would be good to know what other tractors may use the same parts. For instance, would parts from a 50 or 60 interchange? What about lettered tractors or 20 and 30 series? I hate to use the word correct, but I do want the right parts for my 70. I bought the Parts List for the 70, but they are just too pricey to buy more.

For the moment I need a generator and regulator, rear wheel adjuster pinion (cog) and pinion bolt, temperature gauge and tach head. Will a grill insert from a 50 or 60 interchange? While were here, if anyone has any of these parts in good shape for sale at a reasonable, Id like to hear from you.

Thanks ahead.

The sheet metal on a 70 and 720 is the same.. just painted different. I have switched the metal between mine.. The only minor difference you will have to look for is if one has power steering, then it will have a hole in the front sheet metal.. but this is no big deal... (The early 70's did not have power steering.. ) I'm not sure on the other parts, but I would bet that the wheel parts would be the same, but have to look in a book to be sure.. Good luck...

I have 2 model 70's coming into the yard pretty soon. Let me know what you need. I already have 2 70's here now.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you can't interchange very many parts, some of the electrical like generator and guages, maybe, maybe tachometer but 70 is obviously a larger scale and so are the parts.....
