Hood paint on 530

I just purchased a 1959 model 530. The paint is so faded I can't tell --- is the yellow color on the hood the same yellow as used on the rims?? A couple of tractors I've looked at looks like the hood color is lighter yellow?? Thanks for any help!! Larry

Hey,
First let me congradulate you for buying a great model of tractor. In answer to your question the yellow is the same everywhere. The reason it was different it probably had been partly painted with acrillic paints. These tend to fade after 2 or so years. Or if its JD green (acrillic) it fades from JD to oliver green.

The yellow on the hood of the 20 and 30 series tractors were originally a decal when the tractor was new. Over the years the decal will fade and appear to be white.
