Does anyone know of a source for new flywheel bolts? My JD parts book lists the flywheel and bolts together.

Having trouble keeping the flywheel tight on my '41 A. I adj. the end play, tighten the bolts and after it runs a while the flywheel has moved out on the crank a little.

Thought I'd try a new set of bolts, If anyone has any other ideas on what would be causing this any help would be appreciated.

Thanks as always,
JDBob

JDBob--my 1949 G would slip the flywheel a little the last time I cleaned it up good and applied a generous coat of (red) Locktite. stayed put no more problems. Gman

Slide the flywheel off and apply some 271 Locite(red)and reinstall This may work if it's not worn to bad.Set the end play as you go in Quickly because it sets quick.I used it on a 70 once pushed it too far a the starter wouldn't hardly turn it had to take a big puller to get it back off

I don't know a source for the bolts but JD usually has most of these things. Call a JD dealer.

I have read a lot here and elsewhere in the past of people with problems keeping the flywheels tight. Apparently it is a function of wear on the crank splines. There are "tapered" flywheels available which compensate for this, I suppose by taking up the wear slack with the taper. I see them advertised in the JD oriented publications. Fortunatly my model A has not had this problem.
