I got a 48 G thats leaking oil from the power-trol into the rear end. Is this an expensive to fix. I do not want to spend a lot of money on the old beast because I just use it for PTO work on an auger. Thanks for any replies

You probably have one of two things:
1. A blown gasket between the hydraulic cylinder and the rear cover. Replacing this involves removing the Powr-Trol unit and the rear cover.

2. A bad oil seal at the PTO shaft. I believe replacing this does not require removal of the rear cover, only of the PTO-driven pump and PTO shaft.

If you aren't using the Powr-Trol, and (as it appears) you are using the PTO a lot, I would guess #2 above.

Neither problem is expensive. However, if you do have to remove the rear cover, remember that it is HEAVY and CUMBERSOME!

There is more Powr-Trol information on my Powr-Trol page.
