46 A Clutch Drive Disk Aligment ???

After searching through old posts, I have decided to take a closer look at the placement of the clutch drive disk on my 46 "A". The tractor has a "vibration" or oscillation which makes the rear tires "quiver" and the front-end wobble back and forth (almost like the fan was out of balance). My understanding is that there should be a "v" stamped on the end of the crankshaft and either a "v" or a rivet on the clutch drive disk. I cannot find any of these. The part # of the clutch drive disk should be A20R (tractor Ser. #570325) but is 242( identified by a plate screwed onto the disk). Could this be a newer replacement for the original ? There is no location for a rivet so it's entirely possible for it to be placed on the crankshaft incorrectly. In past posts it was explained that the counterbalance of the clutch drive disk should be 180 degrees opposite the counterbalance on the flywheel. I have never seen the backside of the flywheel. What do I look for ? Are there other ways to determine the proper orientation of the clutch drive disk ? If I have to resort to trial and error is ot O.K. to temporarily re-install the clutch drive disk without the other parts (i.e. facings and ring with castlated nuts). Should I try the 6 possibilities and pick the best (i.e. least vibration).
Thanks for any help,
Mike

Mike if you can't find any marks on end of crank and clutch disc,I would mark the crank and disc were it is now and start moving it till tractor smoothes out then don't forget to punch mark it.Any time I doubt my self in reassembly I always punch mark,I have run in to multiple marks this happens in used parts replacement,so when in doubt put your own marks on it. later gman

Hi Mike, some times there is a V, and sometimes a punch mark( . ) that need to be aligned. The flywheel also has to be on correctly. That will throw it out of balance also. If it is on wrong changing the drive disc will do no good.

With a little more scrubbing, I found the "V" on the clutch disk. The disk was installed with the "V" opposite the "shortened" spline on the crankshaft. I am going to remove the disk tonight and align the "V" on the clutch disk with the "shortened" spline on the craknshaft and see what happens. In doing this the counterweights on the flywheel and the clutch disk are opposite. As I understand it this is the correct configuration.

Correct Clutch Drive Disk Part# should have been A2448R. I looked at the wrong number on my diagram.
