44 B oil flow question

Working at putting my 44 B back together. When I got it, it had sat ready to reassemble for a while in my Dad's garage. Some of the bolt holes in the tractor were filled with mud dauber nests. I high pressure washed them out. The crank was still in the tractor with the pistons removed, and I didn't see any evidence of nests in the oil holes in the crank. I washed the inside of the case out with mineral spirits too get all the accumlated scunge out, and have put a fresh filter and new oil in her. I just spent about 15 minutes hand turning her over to see if I can get oil to flow out of the oil journals to assure myself they are clean before I put the pistons in her. Thus far the only oil I have seen flow is out the front of the block where it flows to the head, valves, etc. I have closed that oil hole up with a rubber plug to force the oil to flow elsewhere. (You know path of least resistance...) The last few minutes it seemed to turn over easier as if there was oil getting to the mains but, still no flow noted. It is easy to see where the oil has reached since the case is dry due tothe cleaning with mineral spirits. My question is: Will I be able to get it turned over enough to see evidence of oil at the mains and the rod journals or will I be hand spinning for hours to no avail? I sure would feel a lot better if I could see some fresh oil flowing at these key points before I put in the pistons and close up the case. I do not have access to another JD or I might try to put her in a belt to turn her over from another tractor at idle. Any help out there? Thanks

You did replace the oil filter ?If so it will take a little turning to fill,a quart or so, then it should start going everywhere

Yes the filter was new and replaced. I've gotten a dribble out of one of the oil journals but thats it so far. I'm not seeing anything like oil going all over like I expected. Any Ideas???

Have you had the oil pump out and apart? It is turning the shaft of the oil pump? We had a US/A that the square coupling was rounded but it would turn one every 3rd or 4th turn
