I don't understand why anyone buys from Polk!! Just compare their prices!! I have bought several times from Pete's Tractor Salvage with no complaints. I do know however you need to tell them when you order you want parts in GOOD condition. If you neglect to say so, as I once did, you may get some rather rusty parts. Of course the price is cheaper too so it depends on what you want. I have never gotten any parts from Pete's that were incorrect or unuseable.

I have bought from Polks a couple of times before and have not had a problem. As far as prices go collectors need to understand that buying something from a friend or another collector is going to be cheaper than someone who does it for a living. If a business has a part and it is priced similar to others in the business that is fair assuming the quality is also similar. I also get the Polks magazine which I look forward to.
my 2 cents

Sounds like Polk is like many others in the used antique parts business, out to "polk" us! You know if it weren't for us restorers and collectors these guy's would just have scrap iron. They think they have gold! If you're gonna restore, parts tractors are a godsend! My 2 cents.

Their auctions are a joke. They bring in junk tractors, strip every thing off them, and then cry when they don't bring enough money. DON'T GET POKED BY POLK!!!

What about the rest of us that you screwed????
Are you only fixing the problem with BEANPICKER because he made you look bad? Why not make it right with everyone that you took advantage of?

I got POLKED also, Gave them a premium price for a original used 3-way fuel valve for an early "B" ($75.00) to finish up an restoration project. When I receives the part it would not function, took it apart to find that they had put an internal "A" valve part inside the "B" housing. Called the people at "POLKS" and told them of my findings they said they would promptly send out the correct internal part to make it correct. I am still waiting that was four years ago. Making the mistake of dealing with these people the first time was there fault, the second time would be mine and that NOT going to happen!!! I have done some business with K&K and they were very prompt and I got what was described to me.

I bought an R from him a few years ago and found that the keeper ring that keeps the flywheel on was missing, I called and let him know he sent not just one but two for any future repairs. He didn't have to do that but he did. Just last month I ordered a part which got lost in the mail, again called and the next day I had it with regrets for the delay. Yes his prices are on the high side but he does have the parts. For service like that I will call again. Keep up the good work Dennis.
