I am restoring a 430w and was wandering what style of headlight is correct the ones with the round back or the slightly pointed ones also do all 430s have the wing nut on the battery door or the slotted fastener? Thanks for any help.

The round back style is correct for this era machine. The lights were not changed from 420 to 430.

The battery door should have the slotted fastener on a wheel tractor and a wing nut on the crawler. The wing nut is added to the crawler since getting a screwdriver into it might prove difficult depending on what blade/loader is also attached. Having a wing nut on a wheel tractor isn't necessary, as there's nothing in the way. Also, the wing nut would be something to snag the operator, since you have to mount/dismount the machine from the same spot (crawlers are mounted by climbing the rear of the undercarriage near the sprocket and track/fender - so you're quite a bit to the rear of the battery box).
