Does anyone know what size head studs fit an unstyled B block. If they're 7/16 x 5in my JD dealer quoted me about $23 each! Can this be right? Is there any other place to find them?

Robert take one of the studs to a local machinist and he can make you some,I made some for my G,he can put the crown on them just like J.D.,also tell him what they are for,so you can get the correct hardness. I think they are grade 5,because I put a grade 8 nut on a grade 5 stud and pulled the threads on stud. Gman

I once installed a Heisler Head on an "A". This required longer studs. After dealing with trying to find these studs, I just used grade 8 bolts with no problems at all. I did use one stud in the center so as to guide the head on, and to install the oil fitting for the tappet levers.

I don"t think i could make myself pay $23 for a headbolt. there are a lot of places to buy headbolts and i can"t imagine anyone charging that much. maybe i"m living in the past but that sounds like too much to me. the correct police will never catch you if they aren't JD

Probably right for new items, Green paint is high (since it IS the best). Might be able to get a used set, this site is about the best for getting good used parts.
