Fair price for a 40, 420, 430

I'm interested a JD 40, 420, or 430. I do need a 3pt hitch and PTO, but I don't need the live PTO option. I don't care if it's a wide or narrow front. It doesn't have to look good and the tires don't need to be great, just decent. How much can I expect to pay for one that can be put right to use (mainly for mowing and grading) that doesn't need any work to be usable? I'm looking for one to use right away and work on restoring it gradually during the winters. I can't afford one that's already been restored. My budget is around $2000 to $2500. What can I get for that?
