Is your B stock or do you have it turned up? If so what did you do and how much HP. do you have. I might be getting a 37 short frame to restore, and I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to get a little more HP. Thanks for any info,JPM.

Chad knows because the WTW - B's finished in front of him in more than 1 class at USAP pull at Princeton, IN. a few years back. Chad's H Farmall is tuff, but not tuff enough on that day.

I remember that pull real well! At that time, I had a pretty good winning streak going, I had not seen the B's at the pull for a while,,, then that year, they showed up with both of em. I think I talked with WTW there for a few at the hotel the night before,,, Clearly, they had a plan, they came to pull, and put it all on the table!! Perfect balance, had the tires hooked up with their engines and they put on a real good show! He and his son had em all doing a double takes!! A successful showing of hard work, dedication, and sportmanship. My hats were off to them then and still tipped at em now. Thats my story and Im sticking to it,, but that surely was not the first time Dave won pulling at USAP,,, he had some good runs early on down in Hartford KY too! ChadS

I've had the honor of watching Dave and/or his son pull a number of times. They are a class act alright. Dave gave a friend of mine some advice on his JD-G that really helped. They play fair and play to win. Chad, your H was tuff at one time--hope you get it going again someday. With the price of fuel as it is, seeing and pulling against tractors from around the country won't happen as much anymore.

The H is back, Im about 5 days from hearing run since 2004. I got to see em get better and better over the years. We all will have to find ways to manage on the gas price thing,,,,, In my area, I can look in every direction and be able to go to an antique power show, or a pull with in a 50 mile radius, so Im gonna see how that works out. But, the Ol H is on its way back to the tracks. its looking real good! I wonder if " Shuttle Service" could pan out,,,, get a group of enthusiasts together that wanna take their tractors to shows or pulls,, Via Semi truck and flat bed or enclosed drop deck,,,, Would be an interesting truck drivin job right??? They are a little more than stock. The bigger one of the two has the displacement more than doubled and HP estimated to be more than tripled. Neither of them have ever been on a dyno, just tuned by ear and pulling a sled. Both have stroker cranks, power-blocks and late model Heisler heads. A 37 short frame unstyled B will be heavy on the front do to the cast frame but I do know some that do pull them. A long frame tractor will balance allot better. I have built some stock "looking" pulling B's but you will be limited on HP gains. The most bang for the buck on these little tractors would be a stroker crank and if you are wanting noticeable gains get serious about a decent size crank or you will not be happy with results. I have put 7.5" cranks behind stock blocks and heads. Use a stock head with oversize intake valves. A Heisler unstyled B head has no value other than compression. No need to waste your money there. You will get your compression from stroke volume rod length and piston choice. This alteration does involve inside clearance work including windows on back of case wall. The B is not the easiest tractor to stroke compared to an A or a G as room inside of them are very limited. Allot of fun to be had but as with any motor sport there is a price tag attached. Good Luck, DW
