My 318 is very difficult to start if it has not been started in a week. Last year I put in the new module and that helped but now it very slow again. It acts liike it is not getting fuel BUT if you pull the choke out or give some throttle it will not start for sure. I have to open air cleaner and pour a little fuel directly in the carb. then it will start right up. What am I missing here. Thanks for any help.

I would check/replace the fuel line. They crack with old age and the fuel pump sucks air and the fuel runs back to the tank which causes a lot of cranking to start if its been setting for awhile. just a thought.

Thank you, I will check in to it. I put a new fuel pump in last year and helped some but this year again would not start for any reason until I poured some fuel directly in carb. I didn't check for spark.

My 318 also had a hard time starting. In my case I needed to have the throttle full open and the choke all the way out. I went through the carb adjustment procedure in the service manual and that seemed to help alot, although if it sits for long time, weeks or months, I still need to do the full throttle and choke thing to get it started.
