Does anyone have a special trick to get the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe to seat together and not leak. I thought there was a gasket you could pinch in there but the parts guy at deere said there was no such thing. I dont like the exhaust blowing onto the tin work or under the fuel tank for that matter

thanks

I use muffler cement on the flanges whenever I seperate a flange. It stops this leakage problem. You never want to over tighten these flanges because it will break the ears on the manifold.

There is no gasket and I never had a leak there. It's a sort of tapered fitting that never leaks when fitting right.

Just because Deere didn't supply one doesn't mean you can't make one. Or maybe you could get a sealing ring from a muffler shop..... .rw

i ground and ground on mine trying to get a good mating surface between the two pieces and never could get it right so i found some putty that you cut off of a stick and knead it together until it changes color from local auto parts store. i made a ring out of it and put it in between the pipe and manifold and it sealed it right up. seems like i waited a day or two before craning it up to let the sealer dry good. put new bolts in it to be able to pull it down tight.

Sometimes you can deburr/or cleanup the mating surfaces and help them. If it isn't too big of a leak then some type of exhaust sealer is helpful in there.

There is no gasket ! If it leaks then something must be bent.
