Thought you guys might get a kick out of a few pics of the winter project. 1969 4020 Gas with 3292 hours on the tach as of tonight. She's in her work clothes right now but if it ever dries out in western Wisconsin I'll get her cleaned up. A lot of good input from this site went into the tractor... thanks!

Mike M- This tractor will have a gas engine as long as I have it. Since I put the Zenith on it it starts on the first bump of the starter and purrs like a kitten, even in below-zero temps. It used to have an M-S USX 35 on it that I tried to rebuild, but even after a good cleaning and a new carb kit (including the accelerator pump) it still had a case of the stumbles any time I cracked the throttle. I didn't want to junk a good carb, but after all the work we put into this tractor it needed to run right. Most of the feedback on this forum was to take the M-S and "heave it as far as you can heave it" and that just sealed the deal.
Other than the kick in the shorts I get every time I fill the tank, I've got no complaints.

Ben- Give an animal enough treats and it'll do cartwheels for ya.

I know exactly what you are talking about on those MS pos carbs. I have worked on alot of carbs. even worked at a rebuild shop for starters, mags, carbs. I don't give up easy either. I also always heard throw that MS away and get a Zenith ! I just couldn't believe they couldn't be fixed. I finally gave in and found a real deal on a carb. from a 3020 and that cured it of the rich stumbles.

That's got to be on the rare side ! I have seen a few, very few, early gas models and even have one , but not the later ones. I hope you keep it gas and don't transplant a diesel into it like many have been over the years.

Nice and sharp looking for 40 years old.
How did you get the goat to stand on the right front tire last photo?
Right place at the right time.
