Restored DI Value

Very few DI tractors exist. I have only seen a hand full restored. What are guesstimates of the value an Expo Quality restored DI would bring at a major auction?

The hard part is that the rope is tied to a pole in the drawbar hole which is BEHIND the rear axle and so it it is tight and you turn in it gets itghter and visa versa. You really have to plan ahead and the kids did as good as the old folks. This boy on the DI has a sister who also was involved and she was on a BI. She was just as good. That DI is no piece of cake to steer and control.

Here is one being driven by a boy about 10 or 12 years old at the New England JD EXPO in 2006. It is a contest to drive around a tethered cone without tipping it over or having the rope touch the ground. He did very good.

His family had a whole collection of industrials.

The show is coming up again this year in New Boston, NH in august.

That sounds like an interesting game! It SOUNDS so simple, but I'd bet it's very hard in practice, especially if you're trying to hurry.

I don't think I've ever seen one sell. I can only guess. $20,000 plus. Maybe even $30,000. These could be lowball estimates. It's funny that highcrops are more popular.

I assume you have one? Which one? I'm in the middle of restoring a DI myself. It will never sell, but I'm always interested in this stuff.
