Have all the parts, tech manual and John Deere electrical book/s for the above tractor and have yet to come on to a proper wiring diagram for the 435 Diesel with the 2-53 Detroit engine.
The 440 is in the JD electrical book but as a spark ignition engine only and not the diesel.
Anyone have or have access to the 435D electrical diagram? Would really appreciate what ever is available. Thanks Ellis

Thanks MSD. It will help. It is funny how none of the books show the wire color and start & stop points. We bought a 435 in 1960 and made the mistake of selling it in the 1980's. I bought it back about 5 years ago, but in the meantime they had some engine work done and have go the wiring all messed up, especially from the pressure gauge through the instrument panel. The hour meter should only work when the engine has pressure, but it is wired so it works whenever the key master switch is on. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks again, Al.

MSD, I would sure appreciate an email copy of the 435 wiring diagram. I have been looking for one and it is in none of my manuals. Seems to be a common problem. My email is [email protected]. Thanks, Al.

If you have a service manual for the GM 2-53 for John Deere tractors, it has a section for the electrical system of the 435. It shows the wiring diagram on page 80-5-2. The manual number is SM-2028. Also the parts manual on page 85-2 has another one. I can email a copy to you if you don't have these manuals. I used these on mine and it all works proper.

The 440 industrial diagram in both the service manual and the JD electrical manual both show a similar diesel 12V system. As you have stated, there is little usable 12V info in the 435 specs.

The one on page 85-2 of PC642 I am quite familiar with but does not give any detail to wire color and where individual leads start and teminate. To summarize the 435 for some reason has been left out of the Deere Electrical Tech book with any specfics to schmatics. We are on our third out of five 435D restoration/rebuilds and have managed okay with replacement harnesses and using Stewart Warner gauges/pessure/sending units and Hobbs hour meters to try and maintain originality with instrumentation. Thanks Ellis
