We are thinking of putting our 148 loader on our 4010. The 4010 is a tricycle and we were wanting to know tha availability and dificulty of switching it to a wide front axle. Thanks for the help.

I think the aftermarket is makeing wide fronts that have alittle more metal added to them. Our 4020 has a 158 loader on it and the std. JD wide frt. and has not given any troubles it will handle all that loader will lift. Just don't drive around like a maniac with a load and they will hold up.

Check loader OP. manual or with J.D. dealer. I think there is a frame rail upgrade kit required for mounting a 148 or 158 loader on 4010's and also mabey 4020's. Mabey somebody else can confirm this. Armand

There is not any frame upgrade used on a 4020 or 4000 At least the dealer never sold me 1. I have had mine since 1987 with heavy use and never had any frame or loader trouble.

Depending how much the loader will be used for 1500 + lbs. Round bales or other heavy lifting A bracket is made to put a 4440 front end on them. If all you use it for is snow or light lifting a front off a 3010/3020 4010/4020 will fit right on there lots of salvage yard have what you need worthington tractor parts is one of them. If you search there name The will show about 20 locations. To put on you just unbolt the pedistel and the wide front bolt on with those 4 bolts and 4 other ones the holes are all there.
