58401, When you say "put it back together" is there a possibility that wasps have plugged the tube from the gov box to the tappett cover? You blow thru it? Down hill all the way too? Easy

Oil is pumped up into the governor, and from there goes two ways, (1) to the pressure gauge, and (2) through a small channel to spray lubricate the bevel gears and governor drive gear plus drain off to the tappet oiling tube.

See Field Service Bulletin 93-S, Jan 15, 1939, page 1. "Check the lubrication of the fan drive bevel gear and pinion by removing the oil indicator and bushing to governor case - and inserting a fine wire in the passageway behind the oil indicator once every six months. If the flow of oil is impeded by particles of dirt they then can be removed." If you want a copy mailed to you, shoot me an e-note, and I will send it to you. (Pat)
