I have a JD2010 diesel 1963 with transmission problems, I think I have it narrowed down to the synronizers. It won't go into high range at all and low range only works now if I shift into reverse first and release the clutch before shifting back into low forward (all gears) and this might take a half a dozen tries before it engages. Once it goes in it stays in with no grinding or other noise but I have to repeat the process as soon as I shift out. Has anyone changed the synchro discs, are they still available and at what cost?

Try this before tearing it down. Unhook the shifter rods and placec the shifters in gear where you know the detents have bottomed.Jiggle them to be sure. Then adjust the linkage rods to where you have a slip fit with the pins in the clevises.

Thanks but I tried all the easier things first, Ive had the complete shift assembly out of the dash and tightened it, done what you said as well, twp rollers where missing on the cams but no luck. It won't go into high range at all, if I try forcing it it just grinds as if the syncro isn't lining up with the gear. Low range only works sometimes . I have the shop manual and have had her apart before , just wondered if anyone else had the syncros apart.
