Can anyone tell me if if I can put a Powertrol unit off an A onto a late model B?

Yes they'll interchange. There are however some internal differences. G's & 70's had slightly different valve parts & adjustments than the others. Had to do with their larger volume remote cyls & the slow raise/drop positions of the operating handle. They'll work fine either way. Just a note.... pay attention to which bolts get sealing washers & which ones take just lock washers. Mix 'em up & you'll have oil leaks.

powertrols will enterchange all the way from a B to a 70. no problems.
