Does anyone know what the usual markings are on the end of JD B standard pistons versus oversize pistons which might indicate size. I need to determine what piston size I'm working with before I look for a new block. Thanks.

you can check the casting #'s and tell. Or you can mike the shirts. JD only offers pistons in 2 sizes cast iron. Standard and 45 over. I'd recommend that you stay with the cast iron, much better in my opinion than aluminum. Also if you block does not have a bevel on the inside at the rear it hasn't been bored. A little more clearance on cylinder doesn't really hurt much as long as you don't have big pits, etc. Good luck, if you want to email me at home I can get you the casting #[email protected]
