Have someone take the chains off and try it. I'm betting on the chains.

Armand, I haven't seen this either. If you are off the tractor and just try to push it side to side, does it seem to have slop in it. If memory serves, there's 4 or 5 bolts that hold the wheel on to the hub, but ultimately, the hub is just keyed to the axle. Might be that it's sloppy in there, or maybe the bolts are loose. Hub may have rubbed into the housing, esp if it's used on heavy loads or hillsides a lot. Would need your Serial number to know which style washer you have in there.

Rocking side to side sounds like the chains. The gaps between your cross chains can cause that rocking side to side. Chains normally cause rougher riding tractors, especially on lawnmowers.

Does it have fluid in the rear tires that has frozen and throwing your tractor off balance as the wheel turns????
