I hava a defective tripper switch on my kohler k321s and plan to convert the engine to a contact point set up--the hole that the point plunger goes through is blocked--does anyone know how to remove the blockage--is it a knock out plug, threaded plug or ??? thanks--Frank

Don't know what your K321 is powering. I did the change over in a JD 140 many years ago and I think I had to change ignition switches and also move a wire or two in the plug that goes to the ignition switch. Something you might want to check if your working on a 140.

It is a small "cup plug".

Find a sheet metal screw the will insert into it and grab it, then pull and/or pry on the screw to pull the plug out.

I have a K321S 12Hp on my Hobart welder. I'm wondering if I can change it over to electronic ignition. I don't want to have to ever set those points again.

You CAN use an AFTERMARKET EI on your "points" engine.

HOWEVER, keeping the points allows the timing to be set precisely.
