just thumbing through my unstyled b production register and can't seem to figure out what the pl# heading is used to identify . am i missing the obvious or digging too deep ?

that's pretty interesting. i would assume that as well, but what i can't understand is the sequence in which they were installed on the assembly line. some pl#'s are hundreds ahead or behind any particular one. i.e. mine is 5165 and before it and after it by numerous serial numbers are pl#'s that are not in chronological order as you would expect to see from an assembly line. later towards 3/4 of the end of production, it is noted with 4 -digit pl#'s still and then afew pages later it jumps back to 5 digit numbers. maybe i should just leave well enough alone. when i pulled my 36' from the plains of kansas and brought it home, the powerlift was already robbed....

Just looked through mine, and yes, I see what you mean.Raises some interesting questions. Gotta be some answers somewhere, perhaps someone can check into it.

The P/L number is included just to indicate that the tractor was originally equipped with one. If a tractor doesn't have a P/L number then it wasn't equipped from the factory with one.

Power Lift serial number? I know those units were numbered separately.
