Glow Plugs for a JD 1530

Is it possible to add glow plugs to a JD 1530 ? If not, what is the best way to heat up the engine so it will start faster ?

WHAT KIND OF STARTER DOES IT HAVE? IF ITS A BOSCH THATS ONE OF THE PROBLEMS, PUT A DELCO ON THERE, MY 2120 WOUDLN'T START AT 80 DEGREES, REPLACED THE STARTER, NOW IT TURNS OVER ALOT FASTER AND WILL START ON ITS OWN DOWN TO 50

Ken you could install a hyd pump de-stroker(manual or electric) to aid starting. Tx Jim

Forget the glow plugs. Simply install a block heater, plug it in, end of problem, assuming the engine is in good shape and the injection pump and injectors are in good condition, if it's a diesel. If it's a gasoline tractor, then a good general tuneup should suffice. As a general rule, unless worn out or in bad shape, the "300" Series engines used in the 1530 started very well in cold weather.
