Is it possible thet the marvel-schebler carb can only take so many overhauls before its done I have kited two differnt carbs ( 641 &688) twice and they still wont do right, is there something I am missing ? at Idol they pop and rought it seems to be air leak because the mix needle needs to be closed to do the best all gaskets are new and tight ( I can put a TSX 245 carb on the 430 Iam working on it runs smooth )getting aggrovated ,any thought out there

Rob.
I have a 48 "M" with a tsx245 on it having the same problem. different ones on here told me I had a plugged passage. after cleaning and working on that carb several times I had one that i had to drill out. It sure runs good now. so inspect it real close you will find it..

There are small passages in the carb that need cleaning out with appropriate drill bits.
