Does anyone know of any oil filter that will fit a 950 other than a John Deere.
Thanks Bruce

Yes Napa has the filter for the 950, I use it on mine for the same reason it's cheaper than driving to the local Deere Dealer

Bruce, I have a 770 - 3 cyl Yanmar, And found that Honda filters are an exact match (same orig mfg.), and haven't bought one of those crappy jobber things since.

Ron,what is the # of the J.D. oil filter that you are replacing with a honda. And what # honda are you using. I have been looking for a non deere replacment for my J.D. 755 and havn't been able to cross reference it. Thanks..clooney

Clooney, Finally remembered to get the numbers. The J-D supplied one is M801209, looks very like what we call a jobber filter, square-profile gasket, etc. The Honda one I use is a 15400-PT7-006, and is identical to the original filter on the tractor when I bought it new. They are much heavier for size, we cut one open at work, it has about twice the paper length of a Fram or Kralinator, also has a round-profile gasket which I trust more to seal and stay that way. Hope this helps, Ron

Hi Clooney, if the 950 is a Yanmar, it takes the common Honda filter that fits Accords '86-'99, etc. I can't say I remember the number, Work with them all the time, but the part # is the partsman's job, right ?Will have a look tomorrow at work, but it is the most-used filter.

IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE 950 BUT NAPA HAS REPLACEMENT FILTERS FOR THE 970, BUT JOHN DEERE IS CHEAPER.THE ONLY REASON I USE NAPA IS THEY ARE 20 MILES CLOSER THAN DEERE

ditto on NAPA. My NAPA is 8 miles vs. 25 to the JD dealer. Of course, you could order via internet from JD dealers on the net. Frankly, my JD dealer is too far away, (I don't go up north in my county often)so I'm beginning to look to order over the net. Ralph
