on the price and want you want to do with it.
we have a 5020 with a 318 detroit and a 5020
with a 619 in it. i am a jd guy and I WILL SAY
531S ARE JUNK. the 903 is similiar, it runs
slow, is big with alot of torque and lugging power. long live old iron !!

A 903 is nothing but a noise maker. Would not give you a plug nickle for it. I have nothing against conversions but not with a 903. A gutless wonder

There was one of those critters running around here in upstate NY, twenty or so years ago, on big 32" rubber. It is more of a toy than a tractor. The 903, in "nine O nothin" represents cubic inches. It is a LONG ways from 531. Properly maintained and used, some of the 903s have gone over 500K miles without being built. Good VT 903s are capable of well over 500 HP; more than enough to find ALL of the weak spots in any chassis, much less one built for 531". If you intend to weight this puppy down and show it off you need a good big pile of spare ring and pinions. Without the pile of spare gears you had better "button" up the pump in the Cummins to reduce the massive torque the engine has.

All of this being said, I would make room in my barn for such a unique and cool machine. best, Yeoman

I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.

"GOOGLE" 903 Cummins.

What, specically did you want to know? For starters, there were NOT one of the most reliable, long-lived engines ever built buy Cummins.

They were used in the 900 Versatile tractors. There should be some information on them on the 'net for that application.
