I need (would like!) a good (clear) wiring diagram for the combination light switch for the JD630 (12-volt, gas). Does anyone have such a diagram or know where it can be found? I just can't quite follow the picture/schematic in the parts manual. Sorry for the intrusion! Happy Holidays to all!

Make certain you have the 12V gasser switch. Many a time the air has been turned blue via arcs, smoke and bad words. Because a 6V starting engine or a 24V electric start switch ended up on a 12v gasser tractor.

Glenn, if you can't find a diagram you can figure it out with an ohm meter or a battery and a test light. If I remember right the terminals should be marked with some sort of heiroglyphics that may or may not make sense.

I'm trying to figure this out in my mind as I go here but if you find the 'power in' terminal the rest should fall in place. First click should have only one hot terminal going out and it goes to the distributor. This one stays hot throughout the range. Second click will make two more hot terminals, one for the headlights and one for the white taillight. Third click will leave the headlights on but the white taillight will go out and a terminal for the red taillight will come on. That should use up every terminal unless there's an extra one for some other application. Fourth click is dim headlights (or shall I say DIMMER headlights).

If I've screwed something up, someone please correct it. Happy holidays to you too. Jim

Thanks so much for the advice and instructions - I shall break out the tester! I just get "scared" when I open the dash, look at the back side of the switch, and think what a rat's nest this is!!!!! Thanks again for the help - and Happy Holidays again! (From southern PA).
