Started on a 420W that has one bad rim (12x28). Need any advice on removing the center from rim. It appears to have to have (4) flanges spot welded (3) times each. It is not the wavy style of center. Any advice on the procedure is welcomed -Thanks

If you are going to grind out from the rim side then that is the side I would weld from. Would look better on center side and be hidden inside rim. Just be sure to grind it all smooth when you get done welding so it will not ruin a new tube. Good luck with the project, Jason.

Start by drilling out the spot welds. If you are junking the rim, you could grind down to the center from the rim side. This would prevent major damage to center. When new rim is placed back on center, re weld spots with mig and grind to please. Good luck with your project, Jason.

Jason, if I ground them out instead of drilling, would you attempt to weld from the rim side to reattach or still drill a hole in the old spot weld and mig from the old center side to the rim?
Thanks
