Did anybody read the "tip of the day"? As a 30+ years electrical engineer now retired, I say somebody wanted to see their name in print pretty badly to write that "splitting hairs" tip!

Quote from the tip: "An example is the clip-on battery to starter-cable gauge that shows the starters' amp draw and works by measuring the inductive field produced in the cable when starting."

Is there a new product or have the laws of electrical physics changed? The "clip on" amp guages I'm familiar with only measure alternating current. Is there a meter that measures the inital in-rush current as the field builds? Nothing to measure if the induced field isn't moving (building and collapsing).
