It most likely is the rear main seal that is leaking. Sometime excess reamin clearance helps them wear out prematurely, so check that the main is within limits. The pony comes off after removing just four long mounting bolts, but you generally have to remove the hood, a few wires, fuel line, fuel shut off rod, upper and lower water lines, exhaust pipe, starter cable, pedal linkage, flywheel cover and a few shield bolts. The transmission splits off of the pony with four or five bolts, then slides away. Now the bod news: by now the clutch facing is probably saturated with oil, and should either be cleaned or replaced. The transmission brake pad is likely worn out, too. Whenever I have a "mature" pony transmission apart, I tear it down, as a total rebuild of the transmission takes only three bearing and a couple of bushings, and one gasket. Check and repair anything worn or broken in the star drive over-running clutch. When you put everything back together, it a good time to adjust the clutch per the manual as it's more difficult with the pony mounted on the tractor. I have been using ATF in the re-built pony transmissions, and they run cool and smooth. Frank
