I have a 4620 that was running/starting fine. I put it in park. Dropped my rotary cutter, got back on the tractor and now it wont turn over. When I turn the key on the 2 small orange dash lights dont even come on. Its all the way in park, I checked the fuse, it has a new starter and the battery/cables are fine. HELP what else can it be?

Check the neutral start switch and or the wiring to it.

I bet you didn't have John Deere 'Special Oil' in it and now it's locked up. Those Deere engines know when you've poured in anything but John Deere Special Oil and they self destruct. Yep....bet that's the problem! If that ain't it, maybe you need to check and see if you need to add some John Deere key grease...part # OIC U8 12. If that fails, check the fluid level in the battery cables..might be low.

Wait a minute...that was a John Deere cutter you hooked into...wasn't it? Heaven forbid it was something else. Green tractors refuse to run with any else but Genuine John Deere implements.

Ask me how I know.....I have one! Hehehehe!

What kind of a comment is this???? Seriously?? --Anyway, i believe your problem must be in the ignition switch, the two lights that don't come on are a dead giveaway that some contacts are corroded in the switch if the fuses are fine.

Lighten up Rob,

It's called Humor. No need in being so damned dour and all techno-serious all the time.

How the hell would I know what is wrong with his tractor. No expert type has stepped forth to address his issue, so I had some fun with it.

For the life of me, I just can't believe some of you folks are so dead serious in every day life. Don't you ever sit around the barn, enjoy a beer with your neighbors and just bull$hit and enjoy life?
