I have to replace the tach on my '59 630. I'm sure it is the original given the hours.

When I compare the face of my tach with new ones (not rebuilt one) I see online, there are some very noticeable differences in the look. Did the face of the AA6572R tach change over the years when Deere was still the only place selling them, and perhaps the ones online are actually a copy of a later Deere tach face?

Another Bill, you may be right in your assumption about them copying the later replacement tach/hr. meters from Deere. The original tachs did not have the band for the 1000 R.P.M. PTO speeds, but the replacements from Deere did. The originals also had a narrower, pointier needle than replacements. I think the young NYC fire fighter who lives on Long Island offers the best replacement tach available today. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim. The needle on my old tach has the pointed ends, unlike the replacement tachs I've seen so far.

Do you have any contact info for the guy on Long Island you refer to for replacement tachs?

Bill, the fellas name is Nick Barbieri at 516-221-4116 in N. Merrick, NY 11566. He claims his tachs are made by the O.E.M., they sure look good although the 520/30, 620/30 tachs still have a blunter needle than the originals, at least they do not have the 1000 RPM PTO band. You can see the tachs on an e-bay auction he is running right now, Item #300161214660. I can't find a web site for him, he offers other reproduction parts, I do know. I think he has set prices for his items, I don't believe he sells only on e-bay. Hope this helps.
