My 41B has a crack in the bottom of the lt cylinder skirt up to the block. Does this hurt anything. Should I get it fixed before rebuilding? If I need to get the cylinder sleeved who does this? Do I need the oil scraper ring?

I have a excellent standard bore block from a 1946 if it would work for you.

Do some pricing first. There are still many NOS blocks for that year sitting around too.

I have a 50B with cracks in both cylinders. A guy in Wyoming gave me a price of $800 to do both. He is highly recommended, however..... .I'm still shopping for a used block.

In order.
ouch. Yes. Yes, depends where you are located. yes.

The bore is small enough many auto shops should be able to bore it out for you and stick a sleeve in there.

Ok jd b puller I have another question. As about 1/3 of the oil scraper ring on the heinrick aluminum pistons I purchased sticks out below the skirt, if I resleeve can I easily insert a longer one to accomidate this ring? The stock piston comes to within 1/8" but does not come out. Are the later (42-46) skirts any longer? I have the correct piston according to the manufacturer.

I move the oil ring to the groove above the pin. This solves that problem plus it leave a film of oil on the piston skirt where it needs to be.Depend on the piston sometimes I drill the piston groove for drain back. Any questions email me. Earl
