This John Deere 3020 tractor had been setting idle for about a year. I Finally got it started and now it won't go into gear. I tried every position and still no go. I tried adjusting the clutch pedal and it didn't do any good. I only adjusted the small nut up and down but I did not adjust the big one with the cotter pin. Any help on what else I could do or check would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a good one.

YOUR clutch is STUCK. Your clutch disk is STUCK TO THE FLYWHEEL, even if you have the clutch pedal all the ay in. you may be able to break the clutch free by pulling it around in gear with the engine off and working the clutch pedal.

Does the shifter move into the gears? do you hear gears grinding when you let out on the clutch?

yes i hear a grinding sound at times. At other times it won't do anything. It goes from park to neutral but not to forward or reverse.

Arturo

Is this a power shift or a syncro range transmission? The way you say from park to neutral but not forward or reverse sounds like a power shift.

John
