I am trying to replace the rear PTO Shaft Seal on my 1969 4520 Powershift. I have drained the hydraulic fluid and removed the bolts that retain the rear bearing quill. The quill will move about 1/4" rearward and stops. Is it neccessary to remove the front bearing quill and bearing and pull the entire shaft to replace the rear oil seal?

I looked at a parts page and it looks like that you are going at it the right way, there is a bearing in the rear houseing that is held in by a snap ring. the bearing slides on to the pto shaft and will slide off but you need to keep pressure on the houseing and tap the pto shaft in ward . the seal number is AT344t and the gasket is R58900
