Can someone give me the factory carb settings for a model 60. This tractor is new to me. It seems to start and idle o.k but runs poor and gasy with excessive fuel and black smoke above idle. I think the float adjustment or needle is wrong as the bowl fills up completely and seeps around the gasket. I wouldn"t think the fuel should reach that high a level in the bowl. Thanks Andy.

I had the same problem with the gas leaking around the bowl on my 60. When i removed the bowl i found that the float had gas inside it, upon inspection i found no hole in the float, i suppose it seeped in over the last 55 or so years. Had to drill a pin hole in the float to empty it, then soldered the hole, reinstalled and everything works perfectly now(really better than before i had problems with it). Good luck

What would be the dimention for the float adjustment? What are the basic settings for the power jet and idle jets.

I pulled out the power jet. Is it surpose to have a needle on the end? Mine has a small blunt
needle about 3/32 in diameter and 1/4" long with no point. Could this be broken off? Thanks Andy.

You should check and ajust the float leval.Make sure the needle and seat doesn't have a fleck of dirt in it. The load mixture is controled by fixed jets for the most part. The load ajusting needle comes into play on a long hard pull.
