I have a 1961 4010 that the lift arms are messing up. The lift arms have always drifted down when the tractor was not running but now they drift down if tractor is at idle and will rasie again if the tractor is reved up. what could be causing this. Thanks

Probably some sort of major internal leak that at idle is dumping pressure oil from the main pump faster than the main pump can make it up, and at higher speeds the main pump is able to keep up - leaking rockshaft piston seals, a blown seal on the bottom plate on the rockshaft housing or the plate itself broken, etc. There could be problems in the rockshaft valve also, but engine speed shouldn't affect the operation of the rockshaft valve unless that happens to be where the big leak is at.

Could be the lift cylinder and that you can inspect by taking off a plate on the back of the rear housing.

Could be the control valve on the right side of the final drive.

Could be the plumbing in between those two.
