Drawbar pin/bushing removal

Howdy Deere buddies. I"m rebuilding (top to bottom) a 1961 JD and replacing bushing, bearings, gaskets, seals, etc along the way. I purchased a new bushing and drawbar pin that holds the front support of the drawbar to the transmission casing. There is a small spring pin that goes thru the support into the bushing but not into the pin.

Anyway, any suggestions for popping out that pin? I"m dreadfully afraid to pound it out for fear of breaking the cast. And since the spring pin doesn"t go all the way thru, I cannot punch it out. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Air hammer! The pin is a press-fit into the casting. The roll pin doesn't hold the pin in place at all, I think it is mostly for indexing the bushing to the drawbar support. Don't be afraid of breaking anything. Once you've got it apart, make sure to replace all three bushings in the drawbar support, both bushings in the trans case, the two seals, and the load control shaft no matter how good it looks. There are shims avalible to go between the trans case and drawbar support. Install as many shims as you can to eliminate as much side-to-side play of the drawbar support as possible. The seals will last much longer.
